This Privacy Policy explains how information about you is handled when you use the StrivoCoach mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”).

Who operates StrivoCoach

StrivoCoach is operated by Jóhannes Gíslason, an individual based in Iceland. StrivoCoach is not an incorporated company. The operator is the data controller responsible for personal information processed through the Service and decides how and why that information is processed.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated as you use the Service, and a limited amount of technical information needed to operate it.

Account and profile information

• Name
• Email address
• User or account identifier
• Date of birth
• Height
• Weight
• Activity level
• Goals and preferences
• Onboarding and profile settings

Health, fitness and wellness information

• Weight records
• Food and nutrition information
• Meals and drinks
• Water intake
• Activity and exercise
• Wellness goals
• Progress information

Content you provide

• Messages and input you send to the AI Coach
• Food descriptions
• Other text you enter in the app

Photos

• Food photos you submit for AI food analysis

Subscriptions

• Subscription and product status
• Purchase and renewal status
• Transaction or receipt identifiers, where applicable
• Entitlement information from RevenueCat

StrivoCoach does not receive or store full payment card numbers or bank account information. Payment credentials are handled by Apple and Google through the App Store and Google Play.

Device and technical information

• Push notification token or device notification identifiers, where applicable

How we use information

Information may be used to:

• Authenticate you and manage your account
• Provide and operate the app’s functionality
• Personalise your experience
• Perform food analysis on photos and descriptions you submit
• Generate AI Coach responses
• Track progress and goals
• Manage Premium entitlements and restore purchases
• Send notifications you have enabled
• Maintain security and prevent abuse
• Provide customer support
• Comply with legal obligations where applicable

Advertising and tracking

• StrivoCoach does not display third-party advertising.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use your information for cross-app advertising tracking.

Third-party services

StrivoCoach relies on third-party service providers to deliver parts of the Service, including:

• Google Firebase and Google Cloud
• OpenAI
• RevenueCat
• Apple App Store
• Google Play

These providers process information on our behalf or as part of completing your requests. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to their services.

Artificial intelligence

• AI is used to generate AI Coach responses and to analyse food photos and food descriptions.
• Content you submit for these features may be transmitted to AI providers for processing.
• AI-generated results may be inaccurate or incomplete and should be reviewed before you rely on them.
• StrivoCoach does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
• Please avoid entering unnecessary sensitive personal information into AI features.

Data storage and international processing

The Service uses cloud infrastructure from the providers listed above. These providers may process and store data in more than one country or region. Where information is transferred across borders, appropriate safeguards may apply under relevant law and under the agreements we have with those providers. We do not make specific claims about individual data centre locations.

Data retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain its security and integrity, and meet legal obligations. Service providers may apply their own separate retention periods to data they process. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, it is deleted or de-identified.

Account deletion

You can delete your account from within the app:

• Open Settings
• Open Account Details
• Scroll to Danger Zone
• Select Delete Account

Deleting your account initiates deletion of the associated StrivoCoach account and user information, subject to information we are required or permitted to retain to meet legitimate or legal requirements. See the Delete Account page for step-by-step instructions.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information held about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Request restriction of certain processing
• Request a copy of certain information in a portable format
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Object to certain processing
• Lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority

To make a request, contact privacy@strivocoach.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed at young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner that is not permitted by applicable law. If you believe a minor has provided information in a way that requires attention, contact privacy@strivocoach.com and we will take appropriate steps. Applicable local law determines the age at which a person can consent to processing of their information.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and loss. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the app or this website.
